1. Who We Are

Drive Mart Ltd ("Drive Mart", "we", "us", "our") is a vehicle marketplace operating at drivemart.co.uk. We are registered in England and Wales. Our Data Protection Officer can be contacted at [email protected].

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, phone number, location, vehicle listing details, and payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details). We also collect information automatically: IP address, browser type, pages visited, search queries, and device information. When you list a vehicle, we collect vehicle details, photos, and pricing information.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and improve the Platform; process listing payments; send transactional emails (enquiries, bid notifications, account alerts); prevent fraud and abuse; comply with legal obligations; and send marketing communications (with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data on the following legal bases: contract performance (to provide the service you've signed up for); legitimate interests (fraud prevention, platform improvement); legal obligation (tax records, law enforcement requests); and consent (marketing emails, cookies).

5. Sharing Your Information

We share your information with: Stripe (payment processing); email service providers (transactional emails); analytics providers (aggregated, anonymised data only); and law enforcement when legally required. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Seller contact information is shared with buyers who submit enquiries through the Platform.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies (required for the Platform to function), analytics cookies (to understand how users use the Platform), and preference cookies (to remember your settings). You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect Platform functionality.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Listing data is retained for 7 years for legal and tax purposes. Bid history is retained for 3 years. You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time, subject to our legal retention obligations.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; request deletion ("right to be forgotten"); restrict processing; data portability; and object to processing. To exercise these rights, contact [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk).

9. International Transfers

Drive Mart primarily operates within the United Kingdom. Some of our third-party service providers (such as Stripe and email providers) may process data outside the UK. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for all such transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses and UK adequacy decisions where required.

10. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including SSL encryption, secure password hashing, and regular security audits. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. The date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
